Hi All,
Firstly, I know there are a number of Looking for Server threads so I’m sorry for posting another. However, I have been through them to no avail.
Here’s my issue.
I was running Plex fine on my Mac Mini which I then sold. I have no access to it now. I then set up an old Mac Mini to replace it.
However, when I installed the Media Server it would always say ‘Looking For Servers’.
I have tried:
- reinstalling.
- Updating
- Checking the com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist in Text Edit.
- Notably this file didn’t contain any of the information that I was advised to delete (see below)
<key>PlexOnlineHome</key>
<true/>
<key>PlexOnlineMail</key>
<string>jane@example.com</string>
<key>PlexOnlineToken</key>
<string>BxTVDdUHGGq79JpiEPyC</string>
<key>PlexOnlineUsername</key>
<string>ExampleUser</string>
- However, it did contain a couple of lines of my new email address which I initially logged in on. My account is with my old email address.
- I tried replacing the email address in this file. No luck.
- I deleted this file. No luck
- I deleted all files with Plex in the name and reinstalled Plex afresh - no luck.
Incidentally I have tried to install Plex on my work computer and it does allow me to create a new server, so it’s only the computer I want to use as a server that is not allowing me to create one.
I also deleted the old server whilst I was doing this - no luck.
Can anyone shed any advice?
Thank you!
