Lossless audio DLNA

Hi,
I’m a total noob on audio streaming and have tried finding this answer for hours now.

I would like to stream audio, from my NAS (a 1635) to different products (various Audio Pro speakers, a few network streamers) using DLNA (not using Plex on clients). So I set up Plex DLNA server on the NAS and it works, I can now see my music “everywhere”.

BUT, being the audiophile I am, I started worrying…

So, here is the question: is this streaming, from NAS to client, lossless or is there any kind of transcoding?

Probably a stupid question but it would really ease my mind.

I thought this was an easy question!

DLNA is pretty much a rather stupid file streamer – it’ll read/stream the file as-is… as long as the client can actually deal with it (or fail if it can’t).
Now… what the client does with that is a different matter.

My personal 2ct: if you only worry but don’t hear the difference – stop worrying.
