Low bitrate and high quality vs high bitrate low/fast encoding - transcoder

Anyone do any testing on bitrate vs encoder quality?

I’m basically wondering if I can get 1.5Mbps ‘quality’ encoding to be similar to 2Mbps ‘higher speed’, and how ‘make my CPU hurt’ affects this.

I’m not sure what you are asking. Plex uses a set speed setting of “Very Fast” for all transcodes. “Make my CPU hurt” tweaks some of the settings but it is still using “Very Fast”.

doesn’t make sense. very fast is the polar opposite of ‘make my CPU hurt’.
