GPU encoding is great for high bit rate/resolution transcoding, but when streaming on very low bitrate connections (360kbps, 720kpbs, etc.), it would be nice to have the higher quality that CPU (x264) encoding can provide.
Please add “Prefer CPU encoding for bitrates below X” and “Allow up to X CPU encoding streams” options to allow CPU transcodes at lower bit rates if GPU encoding is enabled. (Continue to use GPU for decoding and resizing, if available.)
A request for the same feature exists already.
