i feel your pain i also think there should be a TOGGLE mode so that when yuou ALWAYS want to see the lyrics come up even if you hit next song it will still stay in Lyrics mode and if in song view mode then it wont but on the lyrics scen should have them add a “toggle always on/off” or something to that effect. its annoying to have to keep going to View Lyrics for each song, esp when learning the lyrics for a new album ]/CDyou just bought/ripped :slight_smile:

This is WAY overdue. Im not the only one with a wife that NEEDS HER LYRiCS and hates to have to go back and tap on the song nae each time to get into yrics mode. need a switch/toggle on the Plex Amp app screen so once you go into lyrics mode you can leave it on and only get out if you want to stop. if the song has no lyrics then show “no lyrics” so you dont think its not working properly.
This is the only annoying thing I dont like about PlexAmp but 99% of the other stuff I love

come on, Amazon Alexa/Amazon music prime (which I also have) does this just fine and shows the lyrics icon so you can scoll up to view it no need to do jugglimg.

make it simple so we can enjoy the lyrics and keep our wives happy! :slight_smile:

This feature is never going to happen, Plex pays licensing fees every time lyrics are pulled, it’s in their best interest not to implement, it’s not a secret. So y’all may as well quit. :rofl:

Bumping. If the licensing fees are the problem, they could implement this option only for offline lyrics, which would satisfy at least a portion of the user base.

I believe that was acknowledged in relation to meta embedded lyrics etc and a fix was in the works under a different feature request thread.

I thought I read something from Elan along the lines, and there it is! I usually like to have my own offline .LRC lyrics, so this would be huge for me. However, I don’t think this has been fixed yet.

The issue described is not going to come unless the way the licensing with LyricFind changes. Maybe they can work something out whit Musixmatch, I think they are the providers for Apple Music and Spotify.

hmmm I was not aware of that. that is too bad. Maybe have this feature only for the Paid/Lifetime members? since they are the ones paying the $$ for all the features.
Maybe have a limit of 10 or 20 or so per day? SOMETHING is better than nothing.

And yes for sure if you made your own lrc or txt file with the lyrics and saved it next to the song on your server, then it should stay persistent if available for sure

What I am looking for is to have lyrics always available when you are using sidecar lyrics.

I ended up subscribing to Amazon Music Family, despite having all music with .lrc files (+ perfect metadata via .nfo files imported using plex addon I wrote). Amazon Music obviously shows lyrics properly and works properly with Alexa voice assistant. So ended up paying for convenience as Plex isn’t able to do either of those things with any reliability and never will. It’s forever WIP-ware which is a shame but that’s reality. So, I don’t use Plex Music anymore, my family don’t use Plex at all anymore, so over last year or two it’s just become a hobbyist side project.

Really wish this option would get more traction. It should be fairly simple to program an option in the settings for which default view you would prefer, album art, visualization, lyrics, etc. I love the lyrics feature but rarely use it because I fail to change the view every ~5 minutes. It never fails that I’m listening to a song that I think I know well and wonder if the lyric I think is correct is actually right and go to look at them and they aren’t on. Please help us Obi Won PlexAdminObi! You’re our only hope!
