Mac based user - IPTV with live TV feature

I really can’t be the only Mac user trying to figure this out! (everything is Mac: Macmini plex server, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4)

Ideally I would like to find a way to send my IPTV service to the Live TV feature for the EPG and channel selection tools. I have read TVHeadend can work but I can’t set up TVH (I can set up VM to run Linux, but that’s a super inconvenient way around)

I do own a HDHomerun extend, that doesn’t get channels OTA as I am apparently too “rural”. Is there a way to root my IPTV to HDHR extend?

Is there a way not using the IPTV (unsupported plugin) to get my IPTV into the live TV feature natively on Mac?

I think without TVH you’re SOL.

I happened to see something along these lines in a different thread…a user mentioned a plugin that kind of sounds like what you were looking for…
