Hi,
Am I missing something obvious… or is Live TV still not supported on the Mac OS X client app?
Given that Mac was the very first Plex Client (and before it was even split into Client-Server) I was surprised to see this omission?

Good question. I just bought my wife an iMac today (went to the dark side), and I haven’t installed the Plex app yet, but I know I see very little discussion around the Plex app for Mac these days, particularly in the DVR and Live TV forum. Fortunately, it’s a desktop, so we won’t be dying for Live TV, but I’m all-the-sudden invested in the state of the Mac app.
I am confused by this. I opened the “Plex Media Player” app and I cannot watch live TV (yes I downloaded the newest version). However, on the same computer I can open a web browser and watch live TV. The Media Player app appears to be just a wrapper of the Plex website anyway, so I can’t figure out why it won’t play live TV. I’ll just use my web browser for now, but it seems like a problem that shouldn’t be too hard to fix…
The OS X client is not longer being developed by Plex. There’s an open source project on it somewhere for fans / coders to keep improving it. I’ve stopped using the Mac client because of growing compatibility issues with server updates.
