macOS PlexAmp Stuttering After Many Hours

I’ve been using Plexamp on my work iMac, running macOS High Sierra (currently 10.13.4, but this was an issue in previous versions as well). Typically I leave Plexamp open all day while I work. After a couple of hours of the application being open, playback will start to stutter and skip, as if the connection to my server is slow. If I simply stop the stream and restart it, it continues to stutter. If I completely close Plexamp and reopen it, the stuttering does not continue. I am not streaming FLAC, WAV, or any other high-bitrate audio file (these are mp3 and aac files), so I find it highly unlikely that it’s a bandwidth issue. Especially since it works fine for hours before stuttering.

The fact that Plexamp is open for so long a period of time before it stutters originally made me think it was some sort of memory leak. However, I don’t notice any other system slow downs or abnormal memory usages in the Activity Monitor, so I think it’s more likely some child process that gets slower and slower over the life of the application. I didn’t see any option for debug information with this client, but if there’s debug information that I can provide, let me know.

UPDATE: I left the program running overnight with the music paused and there hasn’t been any stuttering yet this morning. So it doesn’t seem to simply be that the app is open for a long period of time.
