macOS Server details?

I am just looking for pointers on where to find the latest details on the macOS server specifications. I want to see where things are with Apple Silicon & support for all of that on the SoC. Thank you!

Not sure what you are looking for but Plex Media Server has been supported on Apple Silicon since last summer. It does not run anything different than PMS for Intel on a Mac.

Looking for more detailed information on GPU/CPU hardware decode/encode. Where it does the decode/encode, does it support hardware tone-mapping, etc. I have a system setup and am using it but want to know if it’s feasible for me to remove my non-4k content and just have the server transcode all of it.

It seems that it does software tone-mapping but it isn’t that big of a hit. Just curious on thoughts about that & the performance of AS plex.

Hardware transcoding is supported. Hardware tone mapping is not.

Are there any plans to implement HW Tone-mapping? I guess it’s locked away, isn’t it? Seems that tone-mapping doesn’t take up that much CPU time though…
