Made my own rack mounted PLEX server

Wow! Thats ace. I just moved my plex install to a new machine. I wish i had that beast, haha, great job.

drslevy, That is a nice case, but it is too deep for my network rack. That one is 25 inches deep and I only have about 20 inches available. I needed a much smaller case than the one you linked and there aren’t many options out there.

Ok cool. Didn’t know you had a depth requirement as well but really nice work on that custom case though

@Freqster Do you think you it is possible to please submit the files for this project to GitHub unless there’s a reason not to? Hosted on GitHub would enable the designs and processes from this project to be refined. Enabling any issues noticed to be fixed. Either by yourself or someone following the instructions with knowhow that can fix them.

Would also enable them to be localised into different languages and also refined to a commercial certification level of standards.

The beauty of those Rosewell hot-swap cages is that they use Molex power connectors. This allows you to shuck a 10TB WD Easystore drive that Best Buy puts on sale and it will work fine. Otherwise, you have to null out third pin of the SATA power supply (3.3V).

And drives are typically a few degrees cooler due to the vented front access door and that 120mm cooling fan. Definitely getting another one by the summer time.

I agree Jspemy,

I have a few of thoes Best Buy drives myself. A great deal. Seagate has some deals on their drives too, but I prefer the WD’s.

@Freqster I have replied to your PM. Sorry it took a while.
