Make a copy of a playlist (or Duplicate Playlist)

I know this has been asked for numerous times before over the years, but honestly, the standard answer (below) is just rubbish for what should be a simple menu option.

Standard answer:

Use the web app.
Start playing the playlist.
While the first track is still playing, open the play queue using the icon in the lower right corner.
You can save the play queue as a new playlist from there.

So, despite the fact that I use Plex apps on all platforms I have to:

  1. Go and use a DIFFERENT ‘app’ UI
  2. Play a playlist, and while it is playing go into another menu and add the playlist contents to a new playlist.

Yes. It works.
Is it a good user experience? No, it is crap.

Can’t there just be a Copy or Duplicate menu item on playlists please?

The reason I would like this feature is that I’m a musician and use Plex music playlists for each gig’s set list for me to listen to in the car. Often, a set list is only marginally different to a previous one, so I would love to be able to simply open a playlist, duplicate it, save with a new name, and make a few edits.

Please consider making this simple enhancement to improve user experience!

The same process that you describe as working on the Plex web app also works on Plexamp. I know this to be true for Android, at least, because I use it all the time. I can’t vouch for iOS, but I believe it works there too.

Yep, it also works on Plexamp for Android and Windows.

It’s just unintuitive and involves extra steps where the addition of a simple “Duplicate Playlist” option would replace numerous steps.
