The new Plex music player is pretty good, but still a long way off the likes of Poweramp etc. It really needs:
- Widget to control music playback independently of video.
- Lock-screen widget
What would be really good (and save the Plex developers from re-inventing the wheel) would be if Plex for Android could store the sync’d media in format where the synced files are ‘proper’ MP3s, with their Metadata, so you could point a third-party music player at the location and use that for music. Plex already allows video to be played with a 3rd-party player, but for music to work a player would need to be able to scan all the synced music files and update the app’s library.
