when I click shuffle I want to continue to shuffle episodes.
I don’t want to jump to season 8 and then start watching sequentially from season 8.
Maybe I’m missing something about your suggestion… but that sounds very much like what I get when I hit Shuffle on a library. So far I haven’t seen Plex to pick a random episode and then keep playing the subsequent episodes of that show.
I just reviewed this by hitting Shuffle on my tv-show library and got a rather random play queue.
Would you mind elaborating what’s missing and maybe if this specific to a dedicated platform / Plex player?
On the firestick when I hit shuffle (latest version I believe of plex media server 4.82.1), shuffles to an episode and then continues to play sequentially from that point on.
Are you seeing a different behavior ?
I’ve never seen that behavior on my regular clients (e.g. iOS, tvOS, Web, HTPC…).
Today I revived Plex on my Android TV (Plex for Android v9.3.1) but cannot reproduce your experience. The same appears to be true for Plex for Android v9.2.0 on a Fire TV (checked by someone else).
Each time the resulting play queue is a very random selection of the original selection…
Where exactly are you triggering the shuffle?
I haven’t noticed that issue but Shuffle definitly has problems . My TV is stuck on plex version 1.25.9.5721 (no longer supported tv) no live tv or other new features of plex just library sharing… I added a Chromecast so I could experience all these new Plex veatures and it turns out that I end up using my old built in version for Shuffle. The New Plex versions do not have continuous shuffle for some reason. it also used to have a catagory called “All seasons” of a show so you could shuffle all. I don’t see that on the new versions. . Liiks like Plex has stared to move in so many directions they they have lost focus on their base.
