Currently on my homescreen my recently added episodes are using artwork for the season that the episode sits in. However, if the show is only one season, it’s taking season artwork that is normally hidden (and usually hideous).
My current workaround is to manually change that show’s settings to show the season, change the artwork to match the TV show artwork, and then re-hide the season so only the episodes are showing.
I’ve also realised clicking the episode from the homescreen also takes you to the hidden season directly, which is also not needed and should take me to the show directly instead.
