Making Plex and Pihole work together?

As soon as I activate my Pihole DNS server, the plex player doesn’t work, I guess it’s the plex.direct that’s making havoc.
I’ve created dnsmasq.d/02-custom-settings.conf

#### EDIT SETTINGS
dns-forward-max=5096
min-cache-ttl=300
rebind-domain-ok=/plex.direct/
#### END EDIT

And I’ve also added a bunch of whitelists, but still it doesn’t seem to work.
Anybody here that has some experience with this?

Can’t you add a domain exception to allow Private Domain ‘plex.direct’ ?

From my pfsense:

private-domain: "plex.direct"

I can add this to my fritz!box router, and that works, but I can’t seem to get it into pi-hole when I set that as DNS server instead of the fritz!box
