Manage Recommendations Issues

Having an issue with the Manage Recommendations, “Recent Playlists” is not something listed under any library, but shows as a row on my Home screen. I do have the “Library Playlists” unchecked for all of them, but that doesn’t help.

And then with Podcasts, it’s not a library, so I cannot manage what shows up. But I get a row for “On Deck” and “Recommended” on my home screen. With the old home screen you had direct control, now there doesn’t seem to be a way I can do anything about it.

Same issue if any of the Plex content is pinned. It doesn’t show as a library, so you can’t edit under Manage Recommendations. But then multiple different rows will appear in your Home screen. I’d rather not have to unpin them just to not have those rows show up.

Plex streaming content sources (podcasts/movies&tv/livetv) aren’t server libraries and can’t be controlled with server settings. The only way to not have those rows is to unpin them. I will pass it long folks are looking for a way to control those rows as well.

Thanks on the confirmation on podcasts, et al and passing that along.

Any idea on the Recent Playlists? They are playlists from my Movies and Music libraries, but there’s no option to turn on/off that row on the Home screen for those libraries.

On my system disabling “library playlist” removes the “Recent playlists” row for the library. but I do recall one of the devs saying there may be some weirdness about it especially if the playlist contains things from different libraries.

I will make a report about it.

I saw somebody mention something similar elsewhere.

I find myself pinning and un-pinning them for exactly that reason - to avoid the recommendations.

But I do sometimes watch the Plex content.

If the recommendations went away, I’d probably end up consuming more advertising. :slight_smile:

I personally don’t use them much either and just go into the More menu the few times I want to. I don’t get how going into the more menu, pinning, watch something, then unpin is quicker.

I would also like to have some control over the Plex streaming content sources (specifically Live TV and Movies & Shows), but also my Live TV & DVR source.

…or if not possible, then maybe allow us to reorder each item on the Home screen.

afaik we are looking into allowing manage rows for DVR source as well. those generate the rows a bit differently than regular libraries I think is why it was not part of the initial feature.

Just to throw my thoughts in here as well, I have the podcasts online media source enabled and using the AndroidTV app I get a home row for “Recommended Podcasts”. I’d love for a way to replace that home row with one that was like “Recently Added Episodes (Podcasts)” or simply a row with all the podcasts that show up in the “My Podcasts” tab on the podcasts source page (ideally sorted by left-to-right with the podcast with the most recently aired episode on the left)
