Managing my Anime Series + Movies

I have a folder on my drive with all of my Anime in it, I created an Anime TV Show library on my server and added the folder, then made an Anime Movie library and added the Anime Movie folder, which is inside of the Anime original folder. I am finding a lot of my shows have multiple files, like a 4 in the corner, meaning I can choose which one to watch if I wanted, and they are all different. I tried to split them but it’s not working. What is the best way for me to manage my library and is it possible to put both Anime Movies and Shows in the same Library and have it looking clean? Any help welcome! #server-windows

The indicator means Plex considers those files to be different (quality) versions of the same episode/movie. You might want to review your file naming to ensure Plex is recognizing them as the items they are.

You can find the naming schema for movies/shows in the respective support articles:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files/
https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

As for splitting… this will only work for movies which are located in their own top-level folder or on the tv-show level (not for individual episodes).

As for having a combined movie/tv-show library… Plex does not support such mixed libraries. For some fringe cases you might be able to find movies that are related to a show as “specials”. In such a case you could add them to Season 00 of that show.
Keep in mind most of the online repositories used by Plex to match your files and to obtain its metadata are pushing towards separating movies/tv-shows and clean their databases from redundant entries (e.g. movies listed as a special and a movie).
