"Mandatory" AAC transcode

Hi Folks,

I know this topic is not new and as far as I know there is no “fix” for it.
Im using Plex Mediaserver on my Mac and a PS4 as my Player.

So when using a PS4 all DTS audio will be transcoded to AAC, but can anybody tell me why?
Since the PS4 is able to play DTS (HD) directly from Blu-Ray as well as Games, why is the Plex-App not able to palyback a DTS stream?

Probably sony does not allow it for third party apps. The PS4 app is crippled in several ways because of that.

If Playstation 4 is similar to PS3 i remember there are output setting available, the following may help.
