I want to add to this that I think Plex needs a proper queue that the user can control. It’s great that Plex puts the “currently viewed” content in “On Deck”, but I want to be able to queue up stuff I want to watch after I finished my current shows.

I completely agree, you should be able to ‘pin’ content to your home screen in Plex!
Sometimes you don’t get chance to watch a TV show regularly enough, and it’s infrequent enough that the show disappears off the home screen. You later find yourself looking at that list thinking, “what’s gone missing from there??”.
You should be able to pin entries to that list so that they remain until unpinned.
At the very least you should be able to decide how long period is until they’re removed. I would also like to be able to boot entries off the On Desk list, but that’s for another issue.
Seems like a simple change with big usability perks to me. It’s a big shame that people don’t come on here and raise their voices / vote so we’d get their opinions!

I’m closing this thread in favor of the existing parallel suggestion.
Both have about the same number of votes but the other thread has been around a little longer and is covering a wider context (“add items” vs. “add tv-shows”).

It’s unbelievable that this hasn’t been implemented yet. We should be able to add items and/or pin them so they never drop off.
- It’s not the same thing as the Watchlist, which was also sorely needed (that’s potentially much broader, and it doesn’t queue specific items on your home page)
- It’s not solved by extending the number of weeks before items fall off Continue Watching (that doesn’t allow you to pick and choose which items stay on; you also can’t bring old items back by extending the number of weeks, only prevent current items from dropping off)
- It’s not solved by hacky workarounds like partially playing an episode (that requires more work and time than simply choosing a menu option, and it isn’t obvious to most users)
Not everybody wants or needs a feature like this, but it doesn’t harm or even affect anybody who doesn’t care to use it, and it facilitates everybody being able to choose how to use their servers instead of being forced into a narrow box of how a specific group of devs think we “should” use it.
