I assume this has been asked for many times before, but I was just raging to myself and felt compelled to post regardless of the consequences.
Been a long time user, and one feature that boggles my mind why it isn’t added is being able to manually decide what is a certain show/episode. Yes, I know about the naming guidelines. I don’t care. I refuse to rename my shows because 1. It’s tedious, even with scripts. 2. I seed torrents, so I can’t change the name. (I know there are possible work arounds, but they are all even more tedious than renaming) 3. Sometimes the DVD episode order varies from whatever is in the database, sometimes the episode has a funky title with numbers in it, 2 part pilot episodes merged into one throwing off everything, and I want episode names on my files. 4. I watch some obscure/foreign stuff, so the metadata tracker doesn’t always work, but I can always always find it on IMDB. I should just be able to copy/paste an imdb link that I manually searched into the UI and it just accepts it. 5. The show identifier has always felt slow. 6. Sometimes the search just gets confused and refuses to show me what I want.
As part of this make the folders view show me everything, regardless of whether plex decides it’s a show (maybe even non video files).
Oh yea and while were at it make the “select version” button tell me the file name/length of the version, because sometimes I have alternate cuts, special features, and the bitrate of the clip is extremely unhelpful info since the trailer may have a better bitrate than the movie.
I think if I could just open the files in folder view or be able to split apart two versions of one episode, right click, “change episode”, type in the season/episode or paste a link from a database… oooOoooh that would be so awesome.
