Matching movies partially

Hi, is there a way to match only pictures? i explain the problem:
i have tv series arranged in this way: folder “season 1” and inside the parts are numbered like 1.mkv, 2.mkv etc. plex matches completely wrong all those movies (of course!). lets say 3.mkv its “iron man 3”. usually its not a problem, but if i have that movie already in the library, then it will be reproduced instead of the tv series. considering that 95% of the matches on standard movies is correct, i like the feature to have pictures of those movies, but that remaining 5% will be wrong not only picture but also movie’s title, making impossible to recognize what movie is. saying this, i want to know if its possible to using matchin for only just pictures (or even of movie’s info), but absolutely keeping original file name in order to search for that movie by file name and not by matched titled (that can be wrong). thanks

I have absolutely no idea what you’re asking for…
You ask about matching pictures, then it’s a tv-show folder structure and in the end your explanation comes to a movie. Very confusing.

For naming, please follow the general naming conventions applying to the media type of your library.
Movies:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200381023-naming-movie-files/
example: Movies > Movie Name (year).mkv or Movies > Movie Name (year) > Movie Name (year).mkv

TV Shows:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220687-naming-series-season-based-tv-shows/
example: TV Shows > Show Name > Season XX > Show Name - SXXEYY.ext

Any partial naming or shortcuts might occasionally work but are due to fail at some point – especially when it comes to tv shows.

When with pictures you refer to poster images that should show in your library for a certain movie or tv-show, there’s similar support articles on how to deal with those:

I like to add that you must separate ‘movie’ and ‘tv series’ into different folders on disk. And these separate folders are then also connected to different ‘libraries’ within Plex.

ok let say it in another way. my files are all correctly named, howewer i use the title used in my country ,italy. problem with matching is that it finds the correct metadata for the movie, including picture (in italian), but puts the original english name. thats the reason i want pictures matched, but keep original filename. look at this picture

the file name is Escobar - Il Fascino del Male.mkv. the matched picture is the italian one. but title is changed to “loving Pablo”…
and this happens with correctly named files (but in different language). imagine what happens with those not well named…

This should be about your library settings.

  1. Click the Edit button/icon in the context menu of that particular library
  2. in the General section, make sure Language is set to Italian
  3. in the Advanced section, make sure Localized Titles is checked

thanks i did it and updated all library. but some titles are still in english, even its a common movie. browsing by filename would be best solution for me…

Could it be you manually matched those movies still showing in English at some point of time? I do have a similar setup like you (except my movie names are in German) – Plex is matching them like a charm as long as the German titles are known to IMDb or The Movie Database.

Absolutely no. I changed ssd so i formatted mac and setup all system from zero. Plex too. Library was downloading data in english then ive read the suggestion to set italian in ilbrary options. Then updated library again and some titles changed to italian, some remained in english. But i ask again. Is it possible to keep original filename??? Or even if i have to skip all matching process and renounce to artwork??? I use plex only on the tv in the bedroom as it dont have an integrated mediaplayer. But most times i watch movies in living room using a standalone mediaplayer with integrated player (no kodi, vlc, plex etc) so i used to browse collections only by filename without any additional info’s
