I was wondering how to watch Saturday Night Live on Saturday nights. Does the app not broadcast live TV from CBS, ABC or NBC? I use the Nvidia Shield Pro.
You need something like an HDHomerun or Hauppauge on your network for Plex to play and record live TV. Here are the supported tuners.

I think they are referring to the Live TV (on Plex) which is unrelated to LiveTV/DVR…
If so, Live TV does not stream the traditional broadcast networks
In general Live means things play continuously on a channel or starts and ends at a set time. Show comes on at X time and can be viewed Live. You cannot RW or FF it without the help of a DVR
I know the two offerings are a bit confusing.
LiveTV is our free streaming.
LiveTV&DVR is set up on your server with a tuner device to get local channels

It looks like I need to get the HD Homerun, hook up my antenna to it, connect it to my LAN and install the HD App on the Shield to actually do this. Sound right?

You don’t need the HD app you can use Plex but yes.
