FYI, Amazon FireTV devices run AndroidTV, albeit a highly customized version.
Plex creates separate AndroidTV app builds and publishes them in the Amazon store specifically for FireTV devices.
Amazon takes longer than Google to publish updates, so the app version in the Amazon store generally lags that in the Google store by days to weeks.
