Media Library not recognizing media files Ubuntu 18.04 ZFS

Server Version#:4.20.1

I just completed a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 and PMS. My new server is recognized and I have added the folders for my media library and moved some files into it from my other PMS running on Mac OSX. I have 5 drives set up in a RAIDz configuration using ZFS. The volume is mounted to /biggie-pool and I have a folder structure set up like this:

/biggie-pool/plex/movies

I have checked and the owner is set to plex, the group is set to plex, and I even tried chmod 777 * on the files and folders. I can see from ls -al that all the files and folders have full read/write/execute permissions set for user, group, and everyone else. I have rebooted the server a couple times, tried to get Plex to manually scan the library, and it just won’t find any media there. Any thoughts on what I could be missing?

Thanks!

how did you mount the drive (e.g. in /etc/fstab)?

I used the ZFS tools, and it added an entry in the fstab I think.

Correction, it’s not even in /etc/fstab. I can read and write to the folder, though, and there isn’t enough space on the boot drive to hold everything I put in there, so it has to be going to the RAIDz pool. This is the first time I’ve used ZFS, can you tell?

Not super familiar with ZFS.
From experience users occasionally run into trouble when using an auto-mounter as that usually mounts the drive exclusively to your user (making it not visible for the plex user).

That helped! I moved the mountpoint for the ZFS pool to my home folder and Plex was able to find it. My movies are showing up in the library now. Thanks!
