My library includes quite a few “posters” (album cover art). Often the scanners select a very low version as shown in the screenshot (Ideally, there would be an option to set the minimum quality – but that isn’t what this request is).
When manually correcting the scanner’s choice, it would be nice to know the resolution of each image so I can choose the best. Currently, there is no way to tell from the selection which will be the best on a high-resolution device.
This is the feature I am looking for. Other clients like Emby already have this implemented. I am missing this one… Would be awesome
PS: Also the source of the image would be a nice information!
I would like to this this option as well. Having a hard time telling if the media art is higher or lower quality. In the past I’ve had to choose one and then load the file to see if it’s right.
Schtief_3’s suggestion of image source would also be good.
Yes please. I like the idea of showing the source info. Knowing I’m choosing from local files or embedded images would be really helpful. At the moment, I’m updating images, thinking I’ve chosen a decent quality file, then discovering I haven’t when I see a pixelated image on playback. It’s frustrating. I’m having to choose to upload album art every time as a workaround, even though I have high quality art in both the folder and embedded in the file.
When selecting a Poster/Background, it would be nice to have the image dimensions displayed, maybe some subtext under the image. This is already functionality in Plex Dash, and I find it extremely useful selecting Posters/Backgrounds.
It’s already the case as shown on your very own screenshots here.
Plus it seems you keep confusing dimensions and aspect ratio.
Dimensions can vary but it will only affect the definition (HD, Full HD, 4K, and everything in between) / amount of details of the pictures but the aspect ratio (which is what you seem to be interested in if I refer to your linked topic) will always be the same:
2-3 for posters
16-9 for backdrops
There is no need for those to be displayed in the app. It’s standard.
