Menu not loading in OpenPHT

Hi guys,

I have used OpenPHT since Plex Media Player came out and I love it :slight_smile: - Unfortunately it has stopped working for me. It happened after I had moved some stuff around in my living room. When I hooked everything up again, and started OpenPHT, it just went to the home screen, but there is no menu. Its just the background, I cant do anything other than quit out of it again. There is no menu items, the only thing other than the background image and the horisont menu bar graphic that is present is the date and time. I have tried opening Plex Media Player and Plex Home Theater and both those programs have no problems pulling in the info from the plex server.

I am on a Mac Mini where the Plex Media Server is also installed on. The content is on a NAS. I am using the newest version of OpenPHT. I have tried re-downloading OpenPHT and deleting the old one, and using that to launch from, but it does nothing (I dont know if thats enough to uninstall it)

Sounds like a full uninstall/reinstall is in order.

I agree, but how do I do that? There is absolutely no documentation or help on how to do it.

Is this on a new screen? Is it possible that your OpenPHT was set to 1080p and this is a 720p mode screen? If you can’t see the menu on the left hand side, I wonder if it’s simply off screen.

Well I am using the middle scroll menu thing, so the menu should be right in the middle. But what if it is about the resolution, how do I change it if I cant see the menu? I dont get into any menus or anthing no matter what buttons i press. So the menu items are not there.

Remove or rename your “guisettings.xml” file (don’t forget to make a backup just in case), this will make sure that OpenPHT starts with default settings …

Please Note: This will reset all your openpht and skin settings, you can find the the file here:

Windows: %APPDATA%\Plex Home Theater\userdata\guisettings.xml
OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Home Theater/userdata/guisettings.xml
Linux: ~/.plexht/temp/userdata/guisettings.xml

But Plex Home Theater was not the problem, its OpenPHT. I just did that, and it reset my Plex Home Theater app, but nothing changed in the OpenPHT app.

Update: So I just did the same thing, but I did in OpenPHT folder instead, since i found that folder also in that Application Support folder. Now it kinda worked. I got into the setup screen. I logged into my account, pushed in the PIN etc. But now when I get in its not feeding in all my media. The main menu is there, but its only showing “Search” and “Show Later”. ?

Update 2: Im an idiot. Apparently my Mac had updated doing the night so it had closed down Plex Media Server. So thats why no content was loaded into PLEX. Works now :slight_smile:
