It would be really nice if Plex clients either provide a view or could merge/display certain collections so you get a unified view.
In this example we have two Plex instances (ServerA & ServerB), which are owned by two different people User1 & User2. In this example both User1 & User2 have identical collections, but have prioritized format shifting different parts of that collection and have different listings on Plex as a result.
ServerA (owned by User1)
- Users
- ->User1
- ->User2
- Collections
- ->Films
- ->->Live and Let Die
- ->TV Shows
ServerB (owned by User2)
- Users
- ->User1
- ->User2
- Collections
- ->Films
- ->->Skyfall
- ->TV Shows
A Plex client (Roku, Web, PS3) will typically display these libraries like so:
- Films - ServerA
- ->Live and Let Die
- TV Shows - ServerA
- Films - ServerB
- ->Skyfall
- TV Shows - ServerB
What would be nice if the Plex client could detect the user has access to two Collections called 'Films' and would simply merge the display so you get a simpler:
- Films
- ->Live and Let Die
- ->Skyfall
- TV Shows
In the case of duplicates the local media server would be used, if there was no local media server then the user could be asked which server would they prefer?
(Sorry if this is a duplicate, I did a search but couldn't find anything)
