Meta-data for new movies disassociated from existing

Server Version#: 4.66.1
Player Version#: 1.39.1.2763-300bb607

Something has been a bit off the last few times I’ve added new movies. Almost everything seems to be fine - existing content works as normal, the new movies appear in the list and all the new items have the correct meta-data.

But somehow the new meta-data is disassociated from the existing. If I click on an actor, it appears that the only film I have with that actor is the one I just added - but I actually have many. If I use “Clean Bundles” and “Optimise Database” the problem is resolved and the content for new movies joins the existing.

Could this be a sign of possible database corruption? Or is this a bug?

Refreshing the library metadata should fix this. Alternatively you can wait for Plex‘ scheduled maintenance tasks to do that for you.

Ok, I’ll see what that does - presumably that means others are seeing the same issue. But this is new behaviour and seems like a bug - why create different (duplicate) database records (even if they’re temporary)?

You can read up on why this is happening in this thread:
