Metadata agents for exported XBMC library

@PhilWinger:
Thank you very much for reporting this. I have never seen it mentionend in this thread. As I don’t have such a large custom series, I can’t replicate the problem myself. Its great that disabling the Local Media Assets Agent solves the problem for you. So it might be the problem is with that agent and should be reported to the plex devs.

@Desisuperman:
You need to export to seperate files not single file. If you did not, you will need to do it that way again. After that you will create a library in plex and in the third (advanced) step you will need to select the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter or XBMCnfoTVImporter Agent. Also change to settings of those agents to your liking. This should get you going.

Is it possible to use XBMCnfoMoviesImporter and in addition gain the function “Plex Movie” -agent offer; “Find trailers and extras automatically (Plex Pass required)” from internet?

@SlrG

here is a link to what you asked for

Thanks

@rcmuzzy: The series you gave me works perfectly fine on my system using plex 1.1.3.2700 and the newest version of the XBMCnfoTVImporter. So the question is, what is going wrong on yours. I would recommend a full deinstallation of the TV agent a reboot and a new installation of the agent.

thank you @SlrG, i will try that tonight. do you happen to know the location of the latest update of the Importer?

@rcmuzzy:
The latest version of the TV agent is always here:

and the Movies agent is here:

I hope the reinstallation works for you. If not, please report again.

@TBJ:
I don’t think this is possible. Sorry.

@SlrG Thank you soo much I really appreciate it

So i did this and half my movies and almost all my tv shows are showing blank covers and no fanart but it does exist as I see it in Kodi. When I refresh it tends to refresh only movies and shows with either cover or background fanart in the event the cover does not exist.

Also, does “Local Media Assets” need to be unchecked or checked under all categories? What else should be unchecked and checked?

Is the scan really completed, sometimes it takes a long time for all movies and shows to finish. Did Kodi export all art as jpg files? If not you need to convert it, as the agents support jpg only. If this still doesn’t help you, please enable debug logging in the agents settings (third “advanced” step, when creating a library. Zip up the generated log files and upload them to some sharing service. Drop me link here or using pm for a bit more privacy.

Hi. I just noticed two issues that I’m not sure how to resolve regarding cast…

  1. Movies / tv shows I’ve added recently is not showing cast information (just one circle labeled “cast”) - anything I can do to fix this?

  2. Cast pictures are missing for those that show names - I actually have the pictures in another shared folder as I didn’t want tons of duplicate images. Safe to assume this isn’t going to work then?

@andy_d0:
Have you updated the agents to the newest version? There was a change in the newer plex versions, that needs a newer agent to work. If you are using the newest agent, please provide me with debug logs and a zip of the folders of some of your problematic movies or shows without the actual movie or episode files. Regarding your second question, I don’t think this will work, sorry.

I have not upgraded sorry. Let me try to do that now

suddenly the xbmcagent stop working…
downloaded yesterday new version…no works anymore.

  1. and apart of this: it’s possible to use season fanart … i never realized every season has the same fanart?
  2. i don’t remember the order for the agent: local media assets first and xbmcagent second or viceversa

i usually have problems for the first moments a movie or episode are added in a library…sometimes i must “reload” or “force reload” to show proper info.
but the point here isn’t working properly now

and i don’t know if it’s a matter of the agent or what…i have episodes with only a embedded subtitle…that are showing 2 of them as external!

thxs

@orbtwin-plex:
What Plex version are you using? The newer agents need a new plex version, too.

1.) AFAIK plex doesn’t support different artwork per season. Only a general artwork for the whole show.

2.) For very large libraries local media assets seems to have problems (as reported by some users). I can’t test this, as I have a relatively small library. Personally I’m not using the Local Media Assets Agent at all. This has it’s drawbacks too, as it disables plex extended trailers and extras support. But it keeps the library cache smaller, as media files aren’t cached twice. If used, it is enough to put the Local Media Assets second.

All info should show the first time around if the scanning has the chance to complete. What will be needed to get the correct order using sort title info is to leave the library and reopen it. Are you sure you are waiting long enough for the agent to complete it’s work?

It the agents are still not working after the above tips, I’ll need the debug logs of the agents.

Regarding subtitles, this is handled by plex or other subtitle agents only. The XBMC nfo agents don’t do any subtitle work.

cheers

Agents are able to add season posters. Have a look at this part of the Fanart.TV agent for an example.

fanart posters i have diferent for seasons…
i would like fanart-fanart (backgrounds).

@sirg
im using latest agent(yesterday) and latest plex pass server (now i don’t remember number).
the xbmc agent is on top order, local assets second… new episodes are half recognized (missing plot, writers, ratings and so). i have refresh and force refresh.
tonight im gonna to quit the show, refresh, and i’ll add again.

Cool. Thank you very much for that info! I’ll try to adapt this for the XBMCnfoTVImporter agent.

@sander1:
Checking the source you linked to, it indeed does only support season posters. That is already supported by the XBMCnfoTVImporter. What orbtwin-plex wants is season fanart backgrounds. But thanks for posting anyway. I’m very happy over every little bit of information. :slight_smile:

@orbtwin-plex:
Make sure to enable debug logging. :slight_smile:

Mmmm. last night i could not do the test.
Could you explain me how to send you the debug log?.

The important thing now it’s the “possible” bug for the agent,
Versión 1.2.7.2987 for PMS
XBMCnfoMoviesImporter (V 1.1-45) for the agent

*Apart from this: In the past i couldnt ask to the right Plex developers about the watched status, how it works, and how to obtain support with your agent…any news about this point?..Remember that, as ALL the info, written at the .nfo, its recognized with your agent, the watched status not. I remember you told me, this part, is nothing to do with you…but i would like to get any news

thxs again

UPDATE:
i just done some test: i’ve removed the three problematic episodes from PMS…i do a “normal” re-scan … i do optimize, clean, empty trash form PMS … …episodes obviously are gone from PMS … re-add the episodes and again re-scan …all fine.
Let me explain carefully my process of add new movies or episodes:

1.i have a new episode (downloaded in a folder not in the PMS)
2.mkv tool nix to edit tags for the file: language, audio…etc i embed the subtitle too
3.open Ember Media Manager (tv-shows folder path like PMS) … i move the episode to the proper folder
4.i do a scan library in Ember and auto download scrape the episode … all correct at this point
5.close Ember … in about 15-20 segs PMS are updated … pushbullet maped to PlexPy sends me a note
6.normally the first scan its correct at the xbmcagent…but sometimes the *.nfo info are half ignored (the plot, the rating, the title, the director…etc) … at this point i have to do a “normal” scan for the episode … and sometimes the agent couldnt update the info.
7.like the three new episodes added last days … i have to re-add to PMS (process mentioned before) and then correct

order agent for TV-shows: xbmcagent on top / opensubtitles / plex theme music / and disabled local media assets
