Metadata agents for exported XBMC library

@orbtwin-plex:
Thank you for explaining your process in adding new episodes.
To generate the debug logs you need to enable them in the agents settings or in the third step when creating a library. After the scanning is finished they are in the logs/pms plugin logs folder. zip all tvagent files and upload them to some sharing service. Drop a link via pm and I’ll have a look at it.

I recommend to only add a show to plex once it is finished and all episodes present, using the XBMCnfoImporter agents. Plex often caches things and I don’t know a way to clear that info from the agent itself. But I understand that is not the ideal way. :frowning:

OK thanks for the info…Actually it’s not the ideal way…but like most people every week we’re adding the “**__**episode of the week”
I think i’m gonna to upload the log next week, when i’ll add new episodes and perhaps fails the agent.
i manage to resolve the bug re-adding the episodes this morning.

No problem. :slight_smile: Maybe the logs help to find what is going wrong and fix it. I’ll be waiting for your logs. :slight_smile:

Definitely something is wrong with tv_xbmc_agent
here the logs: (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2vZ6lUhEr87bHZrYlFSYlN6WlU)

the process to add new episodes, like mentioned a few post before:

  • raw file just added into library PMS ( show_s02e05_blabla_AVS_720p_blablabla.mkv)(you know)
  • being into PMS … the file is naked of info…obviously …i just open Ember…scrape info…all fine here
  • PMS and the agent updates but there a lot of info missing. see atached: well scraped / well agent catched /////// well scraped / bad agent catched

If i try to do a refresh or force refresh nothings occurr … episode are half populate.

For new movies this exact process it’s OK.

AGENT: XBMCnfoTVImporter (V 1.1-67)
PMS: Versión 1.2.7.2987
agent for tv-show on TOP and active / second opensubtitles deactivate / plex theme music active / local media assets deactivate.

thanks for help!!

There are no errors in the logs. So it’s hard to tell what is going wrong. Does this problem happen with any new episode no matter what show, or only on certain shows? If you have a special show, where this happens often for you, please upload an zip of the shows folder without the episode files but all other media nfos and art. If not, I’ll try to replicate it later, if I have a bit more time. Probably not this week.

it’s happening in two “normal” shows … the ones i’m following this days.
i have to delete the episodes and re-add again in PMS to get the correct infos.
by the way i just realize there’s something it’s not working too.: In ember i have just update the plot for several episodes. PMS updates in a few moments, but the plot remains untouched. If i force a normal update, then nothing happens.
In the past, this behaviour were OK…
tomorrow i’ll upload you files

Hi All

Has anyone else also got problems with the season poster after the last Plex update?

If I try the “Fix incorrect match” then it will use the main poster on all season posters.

Hmm… For me it uses the series poster on all seasons when creating a new library with the new plex version. There are no errors in the logs however the season posters gets put correctly into plex corresponding fields. Its seems plex doesn’t find them anymore and shows the generic one instead. I hope the plex devs notice and fix this error soon.

First, thanks so much for the plug in! It has solved one of my biggest issues with plex, as I’m now creating the NFO files for importing videos that are difficult.impossible to match otherwise. I greatly appreciate it!

Quick question, what format is expected for the release date tag? I’ll do some trial and error testing tonight, but I just wanted to check if anyone knew off hand what format is expected. Is it MM/DD/YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY? or some other delimiter/order?

Again, thanks for the plugin. It is greatly appreciated.

@thomfabian:
The plugin tries to guess from the date which format is used. So anything of what you listed should work. For ambiguous dates like 01/03/2012 there is a switch in the plugins settings. If active the 01 will be the day and the 03 the month. If not, its the other way round. 01/23/2014 will be automatically read as month/day/year and 13/01/2015 will be day/month/year. Separators can be . or - or /.

I recommend deciding on one scheme and sticking with that on all files. That way it would be easier to automatically change it later, if the need should ever arise.

PMS Version: 1.3.0.3059
Latest available XMBCNFOTVIMPORTER

I noticed today that most of my tv shows have lost their thumbnails and season posters. I try using fix incorrect match to refresh with the XMBCnfoTVimporter, that brought back the episode thumbnails but the episode titles and other metadata is cleared out. I can post any logs, just let me know which you need. Thanks :slight_smile:

Posted too soon… I removed the plugin, restarted, installed plugin, unmatched and manually matched and that brought in thumbnails and metadata. Seasons all have the same thumbnail now but I guess I can manually go in and change the poster. Does the XBMCnfotvimporter look for season thumbnails in a certain location? Sickbeard has been putting season01.tbn, season03.tbn etc in the show’s folder. Should they be .jpg instead? Or maybe folder.jpg in each season folder?

Also, thank you again for this plugin. I’ve been using it since 2012 and it’s been great!

EDIT: Oh, I see :slight_smile: https://github.com/gboudreau/XBMCnfoTVImporter.bundle/issues/84

@rguyor2:
The XBMCnfoImporter does look for season thumbnails season01.tbn in the shows folder. But at the moment there is a problem between the newest plex version (1.3.0.3059) and the agent. I don’t know yet what the exact cause is. So you will either have to live with the same season thumb or you need to revert to the older plex version.

Aaaaarrgh!.

These days i’m gettin’ mad with issues with season posters, some thumbs, and poster for new added epìsodes in opnePHT don’t displaying. Doing test too with PlexMediaPlayer, the Android app and the old PlexHomeTheather…All the same, all losing poster and things.
And now i realized it’s because the conflict between the new PMS and the latest xbmcAgent for tv-series.
I just read (trying to understand my poor english) in (https://goo.gl/lEK8z9) there’s something broken to obtain season posters. In the plugin side, i think there’s nothing to change, its all OK with the code. We hope PlexDev could change this.
Any other things we can do? … revert to some older PMS version? Mine are now 1.3.0.3059. Wich version are OK 100% with the agent? But it’s not a healthy thing doing a downgrade in a the crucial PMS.

Otherwise we’re waiting some kind of solution
Thanks

Any news on this?

No news at the moment. Sorry. :frowning:

OK…i don’t know where to ask.
keep going

thanks

I posted a question about this in the Plex Pass General forum and was basically told not our problem and to talk to the developer since it’s a unsupported, 3rd party addon.

I responded back basically saying that since v1.3.x included “fixes” for scanners, isn’t possible that you (Plex) broke / introduced a new issue? I haven’t got an answer from that one yet.

@slowmoe:
Thank you very much for asking. :slight_smile: Without a Plex Pass I can’t do it myself. Please let me know, If you get a helpful response. Any tip on what I could check or change to make it work again would be appreciated.

What are you guys doing in the meantime? The part of my library that uses .nfos is basically useless now.
