Steps to reproduce procedure (showing a regression / deviation between specific versions is allowed and very much appreciated as it helps them isolate)
Install e.g. XBMCnfoTVImporter in plex 1.2.7 and import a testing library with user provided locally saved artwork (nfo file, fanart, tvshow poster, season posters, episode thumbnails). Everything will show up correctly.
Repeat the steps in a newer version than 1.2.7 and instead of the season posters only the tvshow poster will show. Also instead of the user provided episode thumbnails only plex generated ones will show.
If a testing library is needed, I can provide that too.
@ChuckPa:
I see there is a bug in 1.2.7 which according to the logs is fixed in 1.3.3. But I canāt really say if this could be responsible for the problems we have at the moment. Sorry.
Iām not suggesting itās responsible⦠entirely⦠They fix one thing, something else might regress. Think we call that Murphyās Law?
Do you, or does anyone, have the ability to spin through this test sequence with 1.3.0, 1.3.1, and 1.3.2? Iām hoping someone can catch it so we can expedite submission. If not, I will have to work on this as I can. Itās a solid couple hours worth of work to do the whole sequence.
@ChuckPa:
I can do what I did for 1.2.7 and 1.3.3 for the other versions, too. But I donāt see the benefit? The bug did happen with any version after 1.2.7. There are a lot of users who can testify on that.
If you need it anyway, please post the exact name including hash of the releases you want tested (e.g. 1.3.3.3148-b38628e for the newest version). Since the download of older versions vanished from the plex download site, it is rather tedious to get the correct download links without knowing the number and the hash.
(Setting current poster problem aside for TV shows caused by the new Plex update).
I have used this agent for years, and love that titles and the descriptions will always be perfect because itās in all the local NFO files.
But now with a Nividia Shield pro android tv box where I cant use my NFO files, I can see all the extra things Plex provides for each of my movies, behind the scene, background music from the tv shows when going to a new TV series and much more.
Asking a maybe stupid question, is there anyway I could have the best of both worlds on my NAS where I have my primary Plex server.
Adding the Titles, descriptions and year from the NFO.
Letting local plex media use my local poster and fanart.
Letting Plex pas fetching all the goodies behind the scenes.
I was wondering if this could be done by running the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter as a update/import tool to the existing Plex DB? or maybe by running the agents in a special order? (So Far havenāt figured this out).
In any case I would like to hear what most people think is the most optimized agent setup to get most information to the Plex DB.
I really love how I can now just say" Ok google Show Sean connery movies" and it will list actor thumb and first 10 movies on the screen.
Then you really want your data to be as correct and multiple as possible!
Is the trailer support in XBMCnfoMoviesImporter only for local stored trailers?
No input on best way to setup agents? I just tried to first run Plex agent and then the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter and it now looks like I have keept trailer and extra for my movies?

@anothername:
Iām very interested in this. Without changes in the agent what you are showing will not work. What did you modify to allow this? That would be very cool.
Is everything the XBMCnfoMovies agent fetches from the local metadata preserved or is it overwritten by plexā movie agent?
@ChuckPa:
Iām confused. If I remember correctly, I did 1.2.7 and 1.3.3. If you did 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 we should have every version. If you did 1.3.1 and 1.3.3 like you are writing above, we are still missing 1.3.0. Then Iāll need the full version string for that one. Otherwise if we are all set, I hope the devs will find a solution for this problem. Please keep us updated and thank you very much for helping. Iām really grateful.
Youāre not confused. I need to have all the versions āmappedā as there exist changes throughout. I do not know what those changes are. Iām just working at gathering up the information in conjunction with my other primary duties (I need 8 hands)

How you did thisā¦merging XBMCnfoMoviesImporter plus Plex Movie agent.
Like SlrG says: local media itās preserved and plex Movie agent fills with more artwork, trailers, and extras?
Thanks
Just added it to the init_.py file here ā\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins-1bef33a\PlexMovie.bundle\Contents\Code_init_.pyā http://i.imgur.com/Xk58Yby.png

Iām still trying to learn Python. Are you saying the linkage is that simple?

Then can you provide the full version string to SlrG ?
SlrG is going to give you a hand, but seems that you ignore and ignore his request again.
Iām doing my best. I have other responsibilities too. I do have the RPM binaries that I, the end user, could share but I donāt have the Plex download link⦠I donāt have that level of access. Iām not an employee.
Do any of you happen to have the installation packages you could share?
@ChuckPa:
If you could give me the names of the rpm binaries you have and want tested, that should be sufficient. They should contain the full name and hash (e.g. 1.3.3.3148-b38628e for the newest version). From that it is possible to obtain the download link. Please give me the names of those versions only, that you still need tested. My time is limited too and I donāt want to work on versions you already did.
@andyk1026:
Thank you for providing that info. I did know you could add other agents there, but I only tried adding other agents to the XBMCnfoImporter and not the other way round, like you did. Sadly this is a change, that every user will have to make on their system or the plex devs will have to make in the source of their agents. Either way, Iām sure there are a lot of users, that are very interested and really grateful for your contribution! Iāll give it a try, too.

I mean nothingās ever that simple lol but the above does work, just needs to be redone with every server update
