Metadata agents for exported XBMC library

I did this with the current version of Plex it seems to have left it in the appropriate folder now that I have put it back in there.

Hi, first of all thanks for the plugins, they’re great overall, but they lack one single thing only (at least for me),
It doesn’t pull the local artwork for cast, actors, voice actors, etc.
Sorry if pulling local artwork (whose path is described on .nfo) is ins’t the scope of the plugins, but can it be done?

I use XBMCnfoMoviesImporter on all my servers to keep them identical, I use Tiny media manager to manage my movies and it creates the required NFO with the poster and fan art. I haven’t found anything else that works as well.

Does it pull artwork for cast and actors? I’m a Emby user but I use it only to manage my library and edit metadata and artwork. For obscure TV show and movies most covers are crapy and info is mostly wrong or imcomplete, so I edit it by hand.
I thought Plex could easily import local .nfo as Kodi does. Luckly we have XBMCnfo plugin for that task, the only thing missing is a way of import local artwork for cast and actors.

Plex does not and very doubtful it ever will

Maybe play around with the actor thumb setting in the agent settings at the bottom

Thanks, I assumed it was’t possible yet.
I tried diffrent combinations on the agent settings but couldn’t get it to work.
Here’s what my my actor and .nfo files look like

Maybe I’m missing something

What happens if you use UNC paths instead?

My global actor folder is stored locally (%HOMEPATH%\Videos\People), it’s not shared.

This guy explains how it works

If I understood correctly it will only pull the images if they are stored on a web server or linked by url on .nfo. Local paths won’t work.

Has anyone managed to get the XBMC TV Importer working since the last update?

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the server, the bundle, I can’t think what else to try. I’m on Mac OS if anyone has any tips
?

I’m using the importer as the only agent that is active

The only thing I can’t get it to import is the Collections (Sets) into Plex.
the NFO files look correct

any ideas?

figured it out
was using a very old version, back when it first came out

I Use movie and tv importer.

I use tiny meadia manager to format and downllad metadata. Both seem to be working fine

I was able to install the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle, and it works fine when it is the primary agent, but if I use the “Plex Movie” or “The Movie Database” agents with the “XBMCnfoMoviesImporter” to the top preference (moved to top of the list in the Settings > Agents with Scanner “Plex Movie Scanner” the NFO files don’t get read into Plex.
If I set the agent to XBMCnfoMoviesImporter it works fine. I don’t often but do need to add content via nfo files only and would prefer not to have to switch agents back and forth.
Any solutions? (using PMS on Windows 10).

I can’t figure out what your trying out to do?

I use it to import the information into Plex

I’m trying to use an agent that doesn’t only require NFO files.
I have some videos with NFO files and some without. I wanted to use either of the agents: “Plex Movie” or “The Movie Database” but the “XBMCnfoMoviesImporter” won’t work with those, only when I have the agent set to “XBMCnfoMoviesImporter”.
I’m wondering if there is a solution to using NFO files with Plex that doesn’t require an all or nothing approach to NFO files.
I know I can manually add the info into Plex but I’ve already got the info via NFO files and it is much easier to batch make/edit NFO files than info inside of Plex (IMO).

Fix Match - Search Options

It’s much faster to have Plex to just load the NFO information.
I like it that way because once the NFO is created i keep it with the video.
Not sure but the other Plex agents may change information loaded by the NFO

I use Tinny Media Manager as my media manager and it does create NFO files.
It scans my media much faster then Plex can. I can edit the information, add to it and it has a lot more features then Plex

Then it’s just a matter of having Plex load that information.

The agents in your picture is the agent configuration page.
What agent do you have selected for your movie library?
