Missing Advanced Server Settings with MacOSX

I’m having problems opening ports of forward my content to remote access. I have two network connections running with my Plex server setup. One is a LAN connection a router with running 5G for fast WIFI streaming (For all the local devices). While the second is straight WIFI network link to another router with direct internet access. The problem is I want to choose the right network mapping for Plex to allow remote access to the data. But the mapping keeps using the first LAN network and not the WIFI. I want to access the Advanced Server Settings. But the directions below don’t seem to provide com.plexapp.plexmediaserver document. It doesn’t appear under /Library/Preferences/

I have tried to follow the directions provide on this webpage: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201105343-Advanced-Server-Settings

Can you please help?

Thanks,

Daniel

There is no Plex Media Server option for selecting a specific network interface / local IP Address

My advice is always to disable all but one network adapter on the server to avoid issues

There are a number of forum topics requesting the ability to bind to a specific IP Address.

Some users, though, do manage to have multiple IP Addresses and there are a number of posts from users that suggest it is possible by ensuring only one interface has a gateway defined. I am not exactly how it is done and you may need to search the forums and read about multiple NICs

the user stated that the advanced settings are missing. I am looking for them too. they are not in this location as stated:
Mac OS X
File Location: ~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver

Did you use Go To folder and paste the path in ?

Using the Finder’s Go menu, select Go To Folder... then enter the path in the dialog box that pops up
~/Library/Preferences and look for com.plexapp.plexmediaserver

Just noticed that you picked on a November 2015 topic ! If there was a problem with access to the advanced settings since November 2015, there would have been a lot of posts about it !

It actually has a plist extension

~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist
