I have the bulk of my files on my server in MKV format. I have compressed them and added in the main track and, when available, commentary tracks. I recently encoded a film that had multiple commentary tracks. This file has 4 audio tracks. When I play the file in VLC, I can see, access and play all four tracks. In Plex, I can only access 2 of them. Is this a Plex limitation or do I need to change configurations somewhere?
Please post the first ~20 lines from the Plex XML info of an affected video.
Additionally, post the output of mediainfo(MediaInfo “download mediainfo here”)
(pay attention during installation, it comes with a ‘piggybacked’ installer which asks to install additional crapware. Make sure to set/clear the right checkboxes!)
Once it is installed, analyse the file, then go to:
File - Export - Text (Advanced mode)

We need the output of the standalone-Mediainfo software for comparison.
From the XML we can only gather that there are 2 audio streams in each video file.
What may be cause for confusion is that this is a 2-part video. There are 2 mkv files which are supposed to be played successively.
But each MKV file has only 2 audio streams in it.
There are clearly 4 streams in the file. On both parts.
VLC is not really mediainfo.
Side remark: you should really use 1 subfolder per movie.
