Sometimes I can accidentally download a new episode of a show but not know I missed one (scripted). Plex automatically adds the show to the home screen for currently watching and I go to it from there and don’t realize until partway through the episode I was missing the one before it - or sometimes I finish it and don’t even know until later when I look at the files.
Could Plex have something added to show a notification/warning if you’re missing an episode? I assume it might not be too difficult for it to know if it had episode 4 but was missing 3 (and ones previous to it were watched).
Ah yeah, that is a similarly related issue, but maybe needs separate handling. At least for me if it’s stuff I’m keeping up with the new episode will just appear on the home screen to continue watching, and without being aware of what the last episode was I can easily go into from here without thinking (as it’s not listed next to the other episodes, where I confirm one’s missing after).
I’ve just noticed I’ve missed mentioning the mothership of related suggestions when reviewing this suggestion back in December. There’s yet another suggestion focusing entirely on identifying and dealing with “missing” seasons/episodes and how to show them as such in a library (or notify a user when they attempt to autoplay the next episode.
