There’s a somewhat related suggestion, discussing an option to stop autoplay / continue watching if the next episode is missing.

Stop autoplay if the next episode is not in library

Sometimes, for example, 1,2,3,5,6,7 will be downloaded first and ep 4 later, but if you are not paying attention, you end up watching ep5 without noticing and this ruins the experience
