Missing Watch Together feature in updated AppleTV App

You intentionally chose NOT to include the Watch Together feature in the rebuilt AppleTV App. WHY?!? Why on earth would you take away one of the best features this app had? I am so infuriated by this STUPID decision! Watch Together brings people together. In our current world society, we are in desperate need of tools that bring people together instead of separating them. What kind of cold-hearted, unfeeling psychopath are you? BRING THIS FEATURE BACK AT ONCE! HOW DARE YOU TAKE AWAY A FEATURE I USED EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! This is TOTALLY unacceptable! Whoever made this decision should be chained to a wall and tortured by all the angry, disappointed and now, thanks to your BAD choices, further separated society and let them take their anger and frustration out on you, one by one like the scene in Airplane where a line of people take out their anger on an irate passenger. So tell me, are you a psychopath? Because only a psychopath would be so callous and heartless as to intentionally NOT rebuild this feature in your new and “improved” app.

Sorry to hear. That sucks. I could never understand Watch Together feature. The other person didn’t seem to get a notice or maybe they got emailed one. Weird system that’s for sure.

There are not the right words to describe how angry I am about the removal of watch together. If there isn’t an announcement about bringing this feature back in a month or less, I’m bailing on plex entirely.

Add Watch Together to New Plex Experience

Many users would find having a Watch Together feature in Plex Experience a very welcome addition. There are many people who live or travel far away from their SO’s or friends and family, and having a way to watch with these people near and dear to you would be amazing. I personally have a few friends that I routinely watch content together with on other services and in the previous Plex app. Adding a feature for this in Plex Experience would be something that we thoroughly enjoy.

Unfortunately it’s been “gone” since 2025. Add your votes to the suggestion to restore it.

I was going to let a couple of my family members aware of watch together because I knew they would absolutely love it (I use it with my partner when one of us is away from home for work) but then I read it was being depreciated and decided to not let them know it ever existed.

That was a serious downer of a day because this feature is such an amazing way for people to feel like they are together when they are apart and really set plex apart from the crowd and it’s going away, it feels to me like plex are trying to speed run themselves into a worse future.

Broken apps, removing great features and jacking up the price, pretty sure there’s a term for this type of behaviour.
