As a long time Android user, I would:
- Launch the Plex app on my Samsung S10+
- Click the Chromecast icon in the Plex app and select a TV which would turn on the TV
- The Plex app would display the contents of my Plex Server
- I would select a move or TV show to watch and watch it
In the above scenario the Chromecast icon in the Plex app remained orange and if I paused the content of what I was watching, the plex app still stayed connected to the Chromecast
With my new iPhone two very frustrating things are happening:
a) 5-10 minutes into a movie or show whatever I’m watching will keep playing but the Chromecast icon will not be orange and does not show as connected to the Chromecast. This means if I want to pause or end playback, I must click the Chromecast icon in the Plex app and reconnect to the TV and then the Plex app will let me pause of stop playback.
b) If I’m watching something and I pause playback, in 30-60 seconds the Plex app will disconnect from the Chromecast. To resume playback I have to reconnect to the Chromecast and then select re-select the content from the Plex app and hope it remembers where I left off.
Is there a setting in Plex or iPhone to fix this. The same thing happens using Netflix.
