Movie Collection

Evening all.

I’ve been doing some serious downloading for my Plex over the past few weeks. I treated myself to 4 x 2TB harddrives and set to work.

My question to all you lovely people is…

How many Films do you have in your collection.

I currently have a total of 897 films

Movies

Kids Films

Halloween Films

Christmas FIlms

Show us your collections guys!!!

Currently have:

  • 1,002 Movies (finally broke the 1K mark!)
  • 97 TV Shows (5,759 episodes in total)

Got another 600GB of content (120 movies & 20 TV shows (675 episodes)) sitting on another drive awaiting the arrival of a new HDD for Plex Content (my 4TB drive ran out of space).

So in total it’s

  • 1,122 Movies
  • 109 TV Shows (6,434 episodes)

It’s getting there

Got too much stuff to watch and not enough time. Good thing I have 7 other people hooked up with my Plex content to enjoy.

I have 4 x 4Tb harddrives and 391 movies.

I only collect 1080p encodes from top groups (no 720p no SCENE if you know what I mean).

Over 2k movies, mostly classics --from 1902 to 2015
Under 20 TV series, US or UK, fiction or docus

What’s the movie from 1902? Is it the silent black and white lumiere movie with the train driving towards the camera?

Total space 12.51 TB

@aeonx, are you thinking of L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat (The Arrival of a Train, 1895/1896)?

Exactly that one, @kinoCharlino!
Part of film history.

Nothing boring like that! That’s “Le voyage dans la Lune” by Georges Meliès. A Trip to the Moon - Wikipedia

Cool to know other Plexians have such old classics in their library too!

Oh my… this is taking me back to my film school days!

@kinoCharlino you went to film school? Very cool!

Yes I sure did. I worked in post-production as an editor for a decade before making a career shift. I worked on a cable tv show, documentaries, corporate video, and some local commercials. Ok I will admin, I even did weddings but I try not to be reminded of that!

My next move was in education where I ran a career-focused high school program that taught all aspects of digital media.

Cool! I would be interested in watching your cable tv show, your documentary and some commercials!

I have a similar background: I studied English literature and linguistics, with minors in film analysis/film history and theory and history of photography. I’ve directed a 30min documentary about a silent killer, the virus H5N1, where I conducted interviews with physicians and professors about immunology and development of vaccines, and with a government official responsible for all the pandemic plans. I also animated a 3D virus in 3dsmax and showed it in a sequence swimming through blood veins through the lungs, how it multiplies and attacks healthy cells.
