What the heck is going on. I’m not trying to direct play to my 75" OLED TV here now. I’m just trying to play a movie on a laptop with pretty good hardware. The laptop has 32GB of memory, Intel 10th gen, Dell 7200 series Latitude. I only assume Plex is trying to transcode the video and audio, but who the heck knows. When ever I get Plex working some times, days later it just goes south and can’t play anything. Then I switch over to my new Dune Media Player that has it’s own built in catalog/scraper program, Dolby Vision HDR10 and pumps everything to my new TV direct play and direct stream with no issues…even a high bitrate flick like The Return Of The King (LOTR). I think the rate was 79Bps or something. I watched the entire movie without a hitch on my TV but when I try to watch it on my small laptop ( hard wired in ) it buffers every 10 seconds. I just don’t know what the deal is. And the video content is on a highspeed SSD drive!!! What is the deal here? How can my Plex Server play this movie on my TV with no issues but it cannot play on a small laptop. No one else is using the network. I do not understand! Every computer involved are all high end systems with tons of memory, high speed SSD’s, and the server has an Asus Strix RTX-3090, which I thought would help with some hardware acceleration, right? I am using the latest GeForce Gaming Drivers. Please check these logs out before I put a plastic fork in my head! I’m really going to go nuts. Soon as I think I have it all figured out, NOT. That’s why I’ve ended up with two Apple 4k Pro’s, 2 Dune Media Dolby Vision players, 2 Roku Ultimate’s ( which I use the most, but no DV ) and a brand new Nvidia Shield Pro that I just bought for $200. I did install Plex Server on the Shield just to check it out, but I’m not configuring that server with any libraries or anything since that already sees my original libraries when I log into my main Plex Pass account. I’d like to use that actually since it does have DV I believe. And yes, I have checked all my video cables and network tested every segment of my LAN with no latency anywhere. Where are you little plastic fork!!!
Help before I drown!!!
