I am using Apple TV and every time I want to play a movie with subtitles, the movie stops playing. When removing subs, it plays. Before it works ok and I have this issue for last week or so. Can anyone help?
Mind sharing some more details?
e.g. but not limited to…
- what version of PMS do you have installed on your server and on what platform is that?
- what version of Plex do you run on this Apple TV and what Apple TV model / tvOS version is it?
- any details about the media and subtitles themselves, e.g. are those external or embedded subtitles (or subtitles downloaded through Plex), what format/type of subtitles are those (e.g. text or image based ones)…?
I’m currently watching media on my 2nd gen Apple TV 4K w/ tvOS 15 almost exclusively and cannot reproduce any issues with subtitle playback.

Exactly the same issue with movie freezing after choosing subtitles. Once subtitles are cancelled the movie will resume.
Miracles on Plex! Movie with subtitles working properly as of 9/9/22.
