Movies all "disappeared"

After years of steady operation, my “movies” library is empty! But the files are still present. My tv shows are fine.

My file structure is
/volume1/media/movies
/volume1/media/tv shows

I checked permissions for shared folder /media and user Plex has “read” access. I toggled off the Read access and back on. With no effect.

Originally I was on release 4931, but rolled back to 4930, and the problem is still there.

I created a new library “movie” pointing it to the same folder, and nothing appeared.

I am on DSM 6.2.4. Nothing there has changed that I recall.

Why can’t I see my “movies” library? This seems too weird.

@trumpy81 Did you see that I am on 6.2.4? Not DSM7?

No change.

So… I created a new folder “123” under shared folder “media” and moved one movie into that folder. Rescanned the library and that movie in “123” appeared, but no movies from my “movies” folder. So there is something amiss with my “movies” folder.

With that, I renamed “movies” to “movies1” and created a new “movies” folder under media. That new one works.

I don’t know what happened, but that is a workable solution, unless you have something else in mind.

Thanks for your help. I updated PMS again and everything still looks fine. Now I’m off to move the rest of my movies into the new “movies” folder.
