Movies and Series

When I select Movies and Series , I see all the Movies and Series.

But when I click on either block you can select by choosing Categories (I see the blocks with Animation, Action etc..) The screen blanks and I get this message, after I see a glimpse of the content:
Something went wrong
An unexpected error occurred

All the rest (live tv, my own libraries) is working perfectly. What could be the problem.
Tnx in advance
Aad

In which Plex player app are you seeing this?

This happens at the mediaserver itself on Windows11. On my iphone and on the Android TV everything is fine. I use Google Chrome and tried it on Edge, but the error remains.

In turned debug on and did the categorie thing on two of my own libraries without any problems, than tried the Movies and Series and saw this in the debug.log (as it was my last action in Plex):

Did you get an answer to this? I am having the same issue.

No, not after i’ve replied to the plex employee

Sorry i lost track of this. Which browser are you using?

It doesn’t matter which browser. Brave, Explorer or Chrome. They all give the same result.
I’m using Brave at the moment.

I was wondering if you have tried the windows desktop app and if that also get the same error?

Also does it happen the web app in browser at app.plex.tv as well as via the IP address of your server?

It does appear to be an issue with version 4.156 of the web app which the one build with server is at. app.plex.tv is at 4.158 for which clicking on the category genre blocks appear to work or me.

I’m not sure when the local one will be updated but please let me know if app.plex.tv is working for you.

Hi,
I’ve tried both the desktop app as the app.plex.tv, it works on the app.plex.tv, but not with the desktop app. So I’ll probably have to wait for the update.

Thanks Bigwheel. I am using Plex for Mac v1.81.0.4012-a9d3f098.

When I tried app.plex.tv in safari it worked fine, same as aadnieuw

I’m seeing this same error with plex running on Ubuntu/Debian in Chrome or Brave Browser:
Plex Web: Version 4.156.0
Plex: Version 1.43.0.10492

From the Dev Tools:
https://vod.provider.plex.tv/library/sections/movies/all?genre=5d9c046c2192ba001f2ff6c4&type=99&sort=ratingCount:desc&availabilityType=free&X-Plex-Product=Plex%20Web&X-Plex-Version=4.156.0&X-Plex-Client-Identifier=&X-Plex-Platform=Chrome&X-Plex-Platform-Version=146.0&X-Plex-Features=external-media%2Cindirect-media%2Chub-style-list&X-Plex-Model=bundled&X-Plex-Device=Windows&X-Plex-Device-Screen-Resolution=1745x446%2C1920x1080&X-Plex-Container-Start=50&X-Plex-Container-Size=105&X-Plex-Token=&X-Plex-Provider-Version=7.2&X-Plex-Text-Format=plain&X-Plex-Language=en

error: “Bad Request”
message: “Invalid value provided for x-plex-container-size!”
statusCode: 400

Plex Media Server 1.43.1 comes with web version 4.159.0 which should fix the issue when using the local web app.
