Movies not showing in Library, but they are available when I search

Hi,
I’m confused as to why when I open my movie library there are some movies missing - but when I go and do a search (for a movie that is not shown in the library), the movie appears in the search and it is properly matched and I can play it just fine.

I’ve tried the following actions on the movie library:

  • Empty the trash
  • Refresh all metadata
  • Analyze

Also if I switch to folder view - I can just go to the folder of the movie (that is not shown in the library) and the movie will be properly matched and I can watch it with no issue.

For context I have 866 folders with movies and only 584 are shown in the Library.

The naming scheme is the same for all of them Movie Name (Year)-Quality.

Check this setting. Sounds like you have it set to “hide items which are in collections”

In the normal library view by title they will be hidden

3 dots next to the library → Manage Library → Edit → Advanced

do you have collections being auto created and the library set to not show items in a collection?

Yup this was the problem - I had it set to Hide items which are in collections
