I am very new to Rasplex, only a week so far. I have a Model B Pi (512Mb) on which I was previously running XBMC (RaspBMC) very reliably for a couple of years.
I installed Rasplex on a class 10 SD card, and was up and running in no time. My server is on the very latest build (PlexPass version) as is Rasplex on the Pi (the version is 0.4.1 which oddly is newer than the newest version referenced on the Rasplex site?)
Anyhow, most of my media is MKV files, a mix of 1080p and 720p. I have playback working nice and smoothly, with digital audio passthrough to my 5.1 system, as I did when running XBMC. The Pi is doing direct play, as confirmed by the server.
Movies randomly stop, often in the first 20 minutes, and I am thrown back to the main screen. if I play the film again, I can usually resume from my last position, but sometimes i am forced to start at the begging.
I have the official PLEX app on various iOS devices, and android, but the problem seems to exhibit itself regardless of which devices strarts the playback (on the Pi)
It appears to be worse when I select the Rasplex in the cast icon, and send the movie to the TV. If I use a plex remote app and select play using the interface on the TV, I think it is more reliable, but its early days of testing.
Things tried so far:
I have tired setting the server IP statically - made no difference
I dont believe comms to the server are an issue - both the Pi and the server PC are on the same LAN, and are both wired. This wasnt an issue in XBMC with the same hardware
THis only happens on the Pi, not on other devices (transcode) on the network
Does anybody have any ideas? Is there any known issue here, os is this something very specific to me?
