I’d like to suggest a re-ordering of the list of sorting options for movies. Can you move “Randomly” near the top of the list?
Let’s say people generally know what movie they’d like to watch, so sorting by title is obviously the best choice.
But what if you DON’T know what you want to watch? That’s where Randomly is super helpful. And, how tired are we of seeing “3:10 to Yuma” and “12 Monkeys” at the top of our movie list EVERY TIME we want to spend 90 minutes in front of the TV. Randomly just makes so much more sense compared to every other sorting option.
Every other Recommended List on the platform suggests movies of a genre in a random order, so why not our own main list of movies? My other suggestions are below.
Title (Every time I flip to Title, it’s listed Z->A, or is this just me?)
Date Added (It makes sense to seek which was just added)
Randomly (Arguably more useful than every other option list below)
Date Viewed
Year
Rating
Critic Rating
Audience Rating
Progress
Content Rating
Duration
Plays
Release Date
Resolution
Bitrate
Anything below the line seems like it would be used sparingly or only come in handy when doing maintenance on the content (I like sorting by bitrate to find the “shoddiest” videos, and potentially upgrade them, but I just can’t believe there are many instances where people use bitrate as a sorting tool to legitimately help find a movie to watch, but somehow this option was listed before Randomly).
