My suggestion is to re-order the list of available metadata to sort by in the movies library to an order that’s more helpful to the user by reducing the number of clicks to sort by the desired category. Mainly the “Random” sort option should be moved to 2nd place on this list. Here’s my real-world scenario to support this simple quality of life adjustment.
Imagine that you own 2000 DVDs. You build bookshelves for them, and arrange them alphabetically so you can find one specific movie at any time. Perfect. But what if you don’t know what you want to watch? Do you begin your search for a movie in the top left corner of the room at the "A"s EVERY TIME?? Or do you just walk up to the wall and hope something sticks out? This is why the ability to sort the movie list “randomly” needs to be moved to the 2nd place position on the sorting list just after “Title”. I think 2nd place is currently “Year”, and I can’t think of a time that I needed to sort by year to find a movie before I could’ve thought of it’s name.
If I have your attention this far, may I add suggestions for the rest of the list?
#1 Title
#2 Random
#3 Date Added
#4 Date Viewed (What were we looking at the other day??)
#5 Release Date
#6 Plays
Thank you for your consideration.
