Recently I noticed that only my “Movies” section takes longer than usual to load before it seems to play fine as far as I can tell. Hopefully I’ve provided enough information, otherwise feel free to let me know if additional info is required. I do feel like I may not be the only person experiencing these issues

Have you gone into the settings => Troubleshooting and selected optimize the database?

Debug logging was relatively late activated. There is not much in the logs.

How many movies are in this library?
Are all movies stored together in the the same folder, or do you have a subfolder for each individual movie?

I have not done that but I haven’t needed to before

Logging was disabled so I turned it on for a brief time and attempted to play media in hopes it would catch something, my apologies.

I currently have 1,791 movies. They’re all in their own folder under the main “Movies” folder.

I’ve redownloaded log files that may contain more useful information. Any advice is appreciated because I’m at a loss. I didn’t change ANYTHING and this is only happening to my Movies, not TV shows for some strange reason.

Clarification: is there a long waiting time before you can see the list of movies?
Or is there a long waiting time before playback of one movie is starting?

How much free space is on the volume which holds the Plex data folder on your server? (wherever that is on this platform)

Did you create quite a few smart collections and added them to the Recomended or Home pages?

I can see quite a lot of slow query messages in your logs. These often indicate a messed up database file, or that the server machine is really struggling with the load.

Apr 16, 2022 15:36:09.821 [0x7ff94c815b38] WARN - SLOW QUERY: It took 840.000000 ms to retrieve 1 items.

Do you keep an eye on the Dashboard? Apparently you fetched the logs while at least one playback was running. If this playback was transcoded, the strain on the machine can make it sluggish to react.

Additionally, it appears that either the server maintenance was running while someone was watching, or at least that a library scan was running.
Is it possible that you have set a very short interval for periodic library scans?
At least set the server maintenance to a time period with no or low user activity.
