I ran into a weird problem recently on my PMS. Everything has been running fine, but I noticed that with the latest batch of movies and shows I uploaded, Plex cannot match the movies to anything in the online databases. I have tried to fix the match manually, but Plex always says that it cannot find a match. I have my files named properly, according to the naming convention, so I’m not sure what else to do.
For example, I just uploaded The Wizard of Oz to PMS. The file is named “The Wizard of Oz (1939).mkv” and is located in the Movies directory (…/Movies/The Wizard of Oz (1939).mkv). I let the movie auto-add to the server over night, but the next day the movie had no Movie Database association. If I edit the file and click “Match,” Plex gives me the message “No matches found.”
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? I upgraded my server to the latest version and the it’s still having the problem.
So would it be recommended that I create a folder for all of my movies? I thought they could sit alone in the main movie directory? That is how I have had it in the past and things worked fine. Of course now I have 300+ movies and it’s not working fine. I’ll give it a go and see what happens.
@ChuckPa I did everything you listed, but nothing changed. The Wizard of Oz shows in my list again (after being removed), but it’s still not matched and won’t match when I try to manually match it. The other files that weren’t matching still aren’t matching as well.
Is there something else that might be going on here?
Without making any other changes, about a week or so later, Plex started to match my movies correctly again. I’m not sure if Plex made some background change/update or perhaps the TV/movies DB sites made some change. Regardless, it’s working properly now.
