I recently put several shorts, for several movies, into Shorts folders under the movie directory (ie Ice Age (2002)\Shorts). On my Samsung TV, Windows App and web interface I am able to see and play the shorts without issue. However, on my XBox One, when I select a movie instead of showing Information about the movie and allowing me to watch said movie, I only have a background image. I am unable to watch any movie that has a short attached. If I remove the Shorts I am again able to watch the movie.
Hi there. Sorry you’re experiencing this issue. It has been fixed for the next release, but until then you can work around the issue by quick playing the item by pressing X on the item tile instead of selecting it.
It took me forever to figure out why many of my movies wouldn’t load, when I figured out it was because of the extras I searched and found this thread. I too have many movies with extras associated with them. My kid drives me nuts because he can’t watch The Force Awakens special features on our family room TV (via the XBOX).
At least it is a known issue being fixed in the next release. I didn’t see this in the known issues list when I started my troubleshooting - should it be there?
Is there a timeframe to expect this next release with this fix?
